Everything You Always Wanted to Know About the Schedule C* (*But Were Afraid to Ask): Income Taxes for Artists

Led by Janet Ecklebarger

February 17, 2016

A practicing artist herself, Janet Ecklebarger has keen insights into the complexity inherent in filing taxes for creative careers. Her experience working with clients for over 10 years has also contributed to her knowledge of ways to help artists streamline the process. For this talk, Janet shared her tax-filing best practices for artists, focusing on the essential lifeline for artists and other creative professionals each tax season: the IRS Form 1040-Schedule C. For details of the event, visit the CAC website.

Janet emphasized her key ingredients for Financial Confidence (Knowledge – Caution – Frugrality – Generosity - Basic Math – Budgeting – Prudence - A little bit of Foresight) and guided the artists present through the Schedule C line-by-line, identifying useful details and strategies for artists.
