Conversations with CAR | Margaret Bobo-Dancy

A collaboration with StoryCorps Chicago
The Chicago Artists Resource has teamed up with StoryCorps Chicago to bring you "Conversations with CAR". Through this collaboration with StoryCorps, the Chicago Artists Resource interviews Chicago-based artists about their personal experiences and their impact on their creative practice.
This week's featured artist is Margaret Bobo-Dancy.


Reared in North Carolina, Margaret moved to Chicago to pursue an education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she studied video making and metal casting. Upon receiving her undergraduate degree she worked for a couple years in local foundries. Bobo-Dancy now leads steel fabrication and construction at a production studio in PilsenMargaret continues to work in video making and metal casting while currently exploring glass kiln casting. Bobo-Dancy is a recipient of the Chances Dances Critical Fierceness Grant and is very moved by the Chicago Queer community.
