2019 Art Institute Block Party—Call for Submissions
On Sunday, July 21, the Art Institute is thrilled to host our second annual Block Party—a full day of performances, talks, storytelling, and art making in and around the entire museum.
This year we’re taking a special look at the lives of things: how does the meaning of an artwork or any object change over time, as it moves; changes hands, or places, or functions; or becomes part of a collection?
As we did last year, we invite you to help tell these stories!
Do you have an idea for a workshop, talk, or other experience you’d like to lead in the museum’s galleries? Do you have stories or artistic practice you’d like to share?
Submit your pitch to contribute to this year’s Block Party. While the content and format are totally up to you, we’ll be looking for presentations that focus on the lives of things and/or the Art Institute in some way.
Please submit your pitch by Friday, March 1.
