Daily technique classes with Carrie Hanson emphasize using weight to achieve momentum and distilling form through spatial clarity and activation. Emerging from improbable impulses, the movement material alternately generates and disrupts flow. Carrie's influences include Laban Movement Analysis and Bartenieff Fundamentals, yoga, and release-based techniques

Love Songs For The _____ _____ Hearted is a fun, funky, and bottomless exploration of love, sex, and relationships. This concert is an evening-length work for two men and seven women that explores the complexities of love, sex, and modern urban romantic relationships. Intensely human in theme and medium, the work challenges both dancers and audience to examine their own hearts with extreme honesty. Artistic Director Emily Miller blends the broth of her ballet aesthetic with two cups of varied modern techniques and a dollop of contact improvisation to create this performance for the newly founded GET DOWN/ PICK UP company. The evening is described as "sorbet dance" which is not to say light in subject, but instead fresh and palate cleansing.

An intensive opportunity to explore the potential for expanding your engagement in dance as theatre by delving into the essence of theatre: how a performer’s intention is clarified and shared with an audience, how a performer’s “voice” is developed and realized to its full potential, and how the skills and understanding of theatre enrich the possibilities for dance in all approaches to performance.

Fundamentals of Dance Technique Adults – Movement blends concepts from technical modern dance with eastern principals of yoga—to help dancers sing dynamically with their bodies and increase their conscious dancing.

Int/Advanced Modern Dance Adults – Shineflug is one of Chicago’s finest teachers; her technique classes focus on establishing a solid center/core of the body, then challenging it in new ways. Nana’s movement blends concepts from technical modern dance with eastern principals of yoga—to help dancers sing dynamically with their bodies and increase their conscious dancing.
