This year, in conjunction with its 25th Anniversary, Highland Park's Port Clinton Art Festival (Aug. 23-24), and the launch the 1st Annual Port Clinton Film Festival (Aug. 21 –24), and 2nd Annual Taste of Highland Park (Aug. 22-24) combine for a phenomenal “Great Art, Great Taste” celebration on the North Shore. Visitors to the Port Clinton Art Festival will be treated to a virtual feast for the eyes as they stroll past booth upon booth of spectacular work from 260 world class artists. We are excited to introduce Design Dance's first summer camp for young dancers. This week-long experience will give students the opportunity to experience a multi-faceted dance education and will focus on the core elements of the Design Dance message. Instructors will spend time educating students on proper technique and form in various styles while also introducing them to a variety of forms of dance from a choreography perspective. Each day, dancers will also be asked to create their own works of movement art using the various styles and music they've been introduced to that day. Dancers will be encouraged towards a feeling of community between themselves and their peers and grow in their understanding of respect, positive encouragement and self-expression. She is represented by FLATFILE Galleries, authored the book "The Artist's Guide to Public Art", and just completed a 6300 sq. ft. project for the new Indianapolis Airport.

$40 (includes Museum general admission, refreshments, a box lunch provided by Café Calatrava, and course materials)

Use the Museum’s Collection as inspiration to learn writing strategies (writer response groups, pre-writing, revising, editing, and assessing) that can be immediately implemented in the classroom. Teachers in grades K–12 are welcome. Enrollment is limited.
