Friday, April 20, 2018 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Please join us for Awakenings' upcoming fundraising event, Making Visible. The event will be held on Friday, April 20th, 2018, at Awakenings’ gallery space in Ravenswood. Proceeds will benefit an exciting docket of programming that benefits survivors of sexual violence who wish to heal through the creative arts. Our mission is to make visible the artistic expression of survivors of sexual violence, and we are requesting your support.
Many people have been searching for ways to impact real change. This is a great place to start. Your attendance and donation will guarantee more resources to more survivors. The night will feature a raffle silent auction, testimonials from survivor artists and our founder Jean Cozier, and generously donated locally-sourced food and beverages.
Tickets are $75 for general admission, $150 for VIP. Each ticket includes access to our open bar and refreshments, and one raffle ticket.
Last year, Awakenings Foundation raised $10,000 to support our programming. This year, our community is stronger, our audience is bigger, and the demand for awareness and equality is skyrocketing. In light of our growth, and the emboldened need for community and support for survivors, we are raising our fundraising goal to $20,000. That money will directly impact the resources we are able to offer survivors. Our gallery provides a home for their art as well as a meeting place for an inclusive, supportive, and creative community found nowhere else. Our collection of art provides a window into the lifelong process of healing from sexual violence. We want to continue growing, especially in light of the discourse being used about sexual assault in politics and the media. We cannot wait to count you as a supporter in our goal of making visible art produced by survivors of sexual violence.
