NationalDance Theater Workshop presentations and programs are developed internally by the Artistic Director and associated staff and curators. There is no formal application process. If you are interested in sharing your work with Dance Theater Workshop in regards to our Theater Series, Studio Series, or Guest Artist Series, please send the following items, in accordance with the instructions below:
- A letter of intent stating your interest and describing your work, including the choreographer’s name and the company’s contact information.
- Documentation of your artistic background and performance history, i.e. a press kit.
- Information on any upcoming shows
- An appropriately sized self-addressed stamped envelope (no metered postage or loose stamps) if you want your materials returned.
- A quality videotape or DVD of your most recent work. Please only send full-length works. Please do not send excerpts. Recordings of live performances are preferable.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Materials can be dropped off with Dance Theater Workshop's receptionist at the front desk during office hours, or mailed to Curatorial Advisory Committee, Dance Theater Workshop, 219 W.19th St., New York, NY 10011
- If you have provided us with an email address, we will notify you via email when we receive your materials.
- We will send you a letter of notification once your materials have been viewed. We watch everything we receive, and it takes time. We appreciate your patience and ask you not to call to check on the status of your materials.
- If you have upcoming performances, let us know by sending a flyer and indicating that you have sent in material.
Although we do not curate our season based on the video submissions to the Curatorial Advisory Committee, we appreciate the chance to learn about the many choreographic artists working in the field, including both those we know and those whose work is new to us. This is a valuable step in Dance Theater Workshop’s process of identifying artists we may want to partner with in the future.
Interested in letting Dance Theater Workshop know about your performance coming up? Let our Curatorial Advisory Committee know via email: programs@dtw.org. If you have other questions about the Curatorial Advisory Committee, contact Lindsay@dtw.org.
