Adjunct Faculty / Governors State University

Governors State University’s College of Arts and Sciences seeks to create an available pool of Adjunct Faculty candidates to teach courses in our Theatre and Performance Studies program. Courses taught by adjunct faculty in the above program are primarily for undergraduates.

We are particularly interested in adjunct faculty to teach courses in a variety of areas:
In Dance, courses in Hip-Hop, African Dance, 20th Century Dance History and Dance Criticism. 
In Music, courses in African American Music, History of Jazz, 20th Century Music. In Theatre and Performance Studies, courses such as Intro to Theatre, Storytelling, Acting, Directing, Voice, Movement, Stagecraft, Makeup Design, Sound Design, Scene Design, Costume Design, Lighting Design, and Stage Management.


Skills & Qualifications: 

A Master’s degree in Theatre, Performance Studies, Dance, Music, or a related discipline is required. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching undergraduate, graduate, and/or online courses. Professional experience is also highly desired.
