Finance Manager

Position Description:

As Finance Manager, you will work with the General Director and the COT staff to provide administrative and recording support. You will serve as the primary manager of COT’s QuickBooks account and primary bookkeeper, providing reliable reports and maintaining a reliable schedule of payables and receivables.

This position reports directly to the General Director, but will work closely with the Audience Services & Operations Manager, Director of Communications, Director of Production, Associate Director of Development, and Director of Education.

Skills & Qualifications: 


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Associates Degree with commensurate work experience will be considered
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Intuit Quickbooks Online
  • Experience with ADP Payroll Processes a plus
  • Experience in and familiarity with nonprofit finance and accounting
  • Experience in performing arts or live/classical music preferred
  • Experience with PatronManager a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Receive, record, and process receipts from COT staff in QuickBooks
  • Execute general administrative duties, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and payroll processing
  • Maintain employee health insurance policies and other appropriate benefit programs
  • Serve as COT’s primary bookkeeper by entering and tracking bills, reconciling income and bank statements, and assisting with preparation for an annual audit
  • Prepare detailed financial reports for the General Director and the Board of Directors, including but not limited to cash flow projections, actual vs. budgeted expenses, etc.
  • Manage digital and physical archive of COT’s financial documents in accordance with United States tax code
  • Other duties as assigned

This position is part-time and fluctuates throughout the year. As a part-time position, there is flexibility to accommodate other projects or positions with other companies, as well as variations in schedule and/or some remote work throughout the year.

$40/hour, 15 hours/week (flexible).
