House Manager & Box Office for Spring production of The Wizard of Oz

WINDY CITY PERFORMS

WCP is looking for a House Manager / Box Office Lead for our professional/all-ages production of The Wizard of Oz.

The Wizard of Oz opens on March 31, and runs through May 6.  Shows are...

  • Fridays: April 5, 12, 19, 26, and May 3 @ 7pm

  • Saturdays: March 30 @ 7pm only; April 6, 13, 20, 27, and May 4 @ 3pm and 7pm

  • Sundays: March 31, April 7, 14, 28, and May 5 @ 2pm  and 6pm (No shows on Easter Sunday)

Because we have children and teens in our mainstage shows, we also use volunteers for nearly every performance to help with ushering and box office.

The House Manager's job will be to coordinate the sign-up of parent volunteers, communicate with them regarding their schedules, make sure they have adequate training.   Be the Company's main point of contact for customer service, audience relations, emergencies (non-performer), tracking money from walk-up ticket sales, concessions, raffle tickets and merchandise.  Complete a report for each performance.  Unlock and lock-up the lobby and public areas before and after performances.

Must be available to physically be at 85% of the shows; the office staff will schedule in for the remaining performances.

Training would begin by mid-February. Volunteer recruiting will take place through the month of March (we already have a system set-up for this).

This is a stipended, independent contractor position with a fixed begining and end date:  $150 for set-up, training & coordination.  Plus $30 per performance you work.  Up to $900 for the run of the show, depending on the number of shows you attend.
