IMAN is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic digital media instructor to work five days a week, five hours a day, teaching a six-week curriculum for our digital media youth program. The workshop is set to begin by the last week of June and will target 15 youth ages 14 - 19. This program is currently slated to run Monday - Friday from 1pm - 6pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach a curriculum for a six-week course in digital media through a classroom setting, including individual instruction and workshop facilitation.
  • Teach youth how to use digital photography, graphic design, and video/audio recording in basic website development
  • Monitor group and individual student progress over the six-week course in regards to creating web-based content
  • Assist youth in completing a finished blog-style website that incorporates photos, videos, and audio recordings.
Qualifications and Application Requirements

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Experience and/or ability to provide training in:
    • iMovie or Movie Maker
    • digital audio and video recording
    • creative software
    • music editing and production software
    • internet blogging
    • podcasting
    • basic web development
    • user created content and social networking websites (Youtube, googlevideos, facebook, myspace, etc.)
  • Ability to adapt to curriculum based on results of pre-assessment
  • Experience providing instruction with culturally diverse youth populations at varied experience and ability levels
  • Excellent interpersonal communication
  • Strong desire to work with youth
