The 3 year-old Chinese-American Museum of Chicago sustained a devastating fi re on September 19, 2008. Many items from their irreplaceable document and artifact collection were destroyed. The Chinatown Museum Foundation Board has agreed to salvage the 1895 building and is extremely eager to rebuild what was damaged in the fire.
