Internships at Metropolis

Marketing Internship

Aids in the expansion of the Metropolis market.  Assists with the design and execution of marketing projects.  Will learn about and utilize website and e-marketing.  Maintains Metropolis marketing library.  Records and monitors all reservations for press openings.  Design opportunities available.  Reports directly to the Communications Director.

Casting Internship

Aids casting director or production team on casting all productions.  Sets up list for and facilitates auditions.  Assists in company management for current productions.  Participates in call backs and casting decisions.  Reports directly to the Casting Director.

Production Management Internship

Assists the production management team on all series productions.  Updates and maintains a database of performers and implements correspondence for audition announcements.  Organizes and runs callbacks as needed.  Supports design and technical staff during tech weeks as an assistant production manager.  Reports directly to the Production Manager.

Technical Internship

Aids production management team on all productions.  Assists in technical development for current productions.  Set, sound, lighting and prop design opportunities as available.  Commitment to the full run of shows required.  Reports directly to the Technical Director.

Education Administration Internship

Directly assists Education Department in daily activities.  Assists in smooth functioning of School of Performing Arts (SOPA) classes.  Helps to maintain satisfaction of SOPA parents.  Attends children’s theatre productions and provides feedback.  Assists in facilitation of all SOPA showcases.  Student teaching opportunities available.  Reports directly to the Education Director.

Education Outreach Internship

Directly assists Outreach Manager in daily activities.  Observes and possibly assistant teaches off-site programming.  Maintains Outreach contact databases.  Compiles research on education standards and trends.  Helps facilitate cross-cultural programming and development.  Reports to the Outreach Manager.

Teaching Internship

Assistant teaches in a number of SOPA classes.  Develop and maintain curriculum as aligned by state standards.  Collaborates with teaching artist to build lesson plans.  Reports to Education Director.

Metropolis Youth Symphony Internship

Organizes and maintains sheet music library.  Facilitates student and parent communication.  Organizes and maintains rehearsal schedule.  Conduction opportunities available.  Assists in communication between MYS and SOPA.  Lends administrative and organizational support to prepare SOPA classes.  Reports directly to MYS conductor.
