Director of Jazz Studies, full-time Teaching Track position, beginning in August 2009. The successful candidate will be a performer/scholar in Jazz Studies or Ethnomusicology who demonstrates the potential to be a musical and intellectual leader in the field. The successful candidate will oversee the Jazz minor, plan and propose a Jazz major, as well as teach jazz ensembles, jazz theory, jazz history, and other courses appropriate to the candidate’s areas of expertise.
Qualifications and Application Requirements

Skills & Qualifications: 

The D.M.A. or Ph.D. in Jazz Studies or Ethnomusicology, or equivalent professional experience, is required and must be in hand by August 2009.
