Led by guest artist Cliff Colnot, the three-day Conducting Workshop will address baton / gestural technique, score analysis, rehearsal technique, string pedagogy, intonation of winds and brass, psychology of the rehearsal, time management and efficiency, and music theory. Each day of the workshop will include seminars and conducting sessions.

Based on performance and progression throughout the workshop, up to two participants will be invited to conduct the Oistrach Symphony Orchestra at their next performance on February 1, 2009 during the DePaul Community Music Division’s Concerto Festival for Young Performers.
