Susan Werner, an On Stage With… favorite who has been participated in the Auditorium Theatre’s cabaret series each year since its inception, has been hailed for breathing new and brilliant life into the popular song tradition. Werner’s original songs are a pastiche of folk, jazz and pop, and her sassy, witty lyrics contain many references to her life in Chicago. With six albums under her belt, an active touring career, and a string of accolades from the likes of The Washington Post, The Village Voice and The New Yorker, Werner has been hailed as “one of the most innovative songwriters working today” by the Chicago Tribune.
