Position Summary

Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. seeks a Director of VIP Operations for it Art Group. 

Duties Include·        

  • Plan extensive four-day calendar of over 80 events for VIP Program of annual Art Chicago, Modern and Contemporary International Art Fair, including private collection tours, curator led tours at local institutions, Professional Preview and Gala Opening party, theater tickets and restaurant deals for 3,000+ VIPs;·        
  • Assist with sponsorship acquisition and implementation of high-end brands;·        
  • Continue relationship and outreach to over 100 top international museums and cultural institutions to recruit organized groups of collectors and curators to travel to Chicago for the fair; ·        
  • Build and maintain a network of over 15,000 international VIPS;·        
  • Work within allocated budget;·        
  • Schedule, train and manage temporary staff;
  • Edit website, fact sheets and all marketing materials;·        
  • Continue to improve on pre-registration program with CGX solutions
  Education/Experience

The ideal candidate for the Director, VIP Operations will possess a Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of experience in the Art Industry.  Previous experience in a similar position is preferred.

  • Excellent organization skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a team oriented environment while paying close attention to detail
  • Must possess top level business management, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
